From Passion Project to Pan-African Leader
Hostraha was born in 2018 from a simple yet powerful vision: to provide accessible, high-quality web hosting services specifically designed for African businesses and creators.
What began as a small operation in Nairobi with just two servers and a team of three passionate tech enthusiasts has grown into a pan-African hosting powerhouse with offices across the continent.
Our founder, Stephen Ndegwa, experienced firsthand the challenges African businesses faced with international hosting providers—from payment difficulties and poor regional performance to lack of localized support. He set out to create a solution that understood and addressed the unique needs of the African market.
Today, with over 250,000 websites hosted on our platform and a team of 120+ professionals across six countries, we continue to stay true to our original mission while expanding our services to meet evolving digital needs.

Founded in Nairobi
Hostraha launches in the heart of Kenya's tech scene with a small, ambitious team focused on providing reliable hosting solutions for East African businesses.
West African Expansion
With growing demand from West Africa, we established our Lagos office and launched Nigeria-based servers to provide faster service to clients in the region.
Service Expansion
Despite global challenges, we enhanced our service offerings with managed WordPress hosting and improved security features to support businesses going digital.
Southern Africa Entry
We launched our Cape Town data center and established an office to improve service delivery across Southern African nations and reduce latency for regional customers.
East Africa Growth
Expansion into Rwanda and Tanzania with new offices in Kigali and Dar es Salaam, bringing our services closer to businesses in these rapidly growing markets.
Uganda Expansion
Opening of our Kampala office to enhance service delivery across East Africa and support Uganda's growing digital ecosystem and startup community.
